VNC is a very good tool for accessing a pc remotely. Sometime we don’t have a VNC client on a pc and we need to access a server remotely. What to do in such a scenario. Well we can access VNC using a web browser lie internet explorer, Mozilla, Netscape etc
You can remotely control a VNC-enabled box without the VNC client; all you need is a web browser. Just open the url http://machine_name:5800
Supposedly some implementations of VNC are better than another. It seems the most improved version right now is from http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/. One good option is http://www.tightvnc.org. The algorithm/code/engine beneath the surface is reportedly more efficient for handling conditions with limited bandwidth (ex: remote-controlling over 56k dial-up). Give it a try.
